9th December 2011
Windsurfing: Levington
Wind Direction: w
Wind Stength: 10
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: 7
Sea Temperature: 12
Weather: sunny
Max Speed: 16.07 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 5.40 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

After taking my gear to Levington two days running and decided against going out with the tide going out in winds gusting over 40 mph all by myself !!! so it was third time lucky today. After walking to the wood in Felixstowe collecting holly etc for christmas decoration and with not a cloud in the sky and a balmy 7 degrees headed to Levington again shjame the wind didn't play ball :( I rigged 8.5 when I should have put up 9.4 but in the end it didn't make much difference in the light airs and it turned into a birdwatching rather than windsurfing afternoon !!! It was hard to make against the tide which didn't seem to drop the whole time out and I mader it just short of Pin Mill before my hands started to get cold :( I sailed into Levington Creek where hundreds of Brent Geese and waders took to the air - an impressive sight :) So even though I couldn't get planning an enjoyable afternoon all the same.

Congratulations to all those who battled the wild winds and killer chop at Kirby over the last few days !!!

I think my speedsailing is over until the spring :( the point of winter is ????
